A Level 2 charger delivers power at 208-240V and can charge an EV 3 to 7 times faster than a Level 1 unit, adding 10 to 30 miles of range per hour. While it requires professional installation, it is the recommended solution for most EV owners. Both types of home chargers incorporate critical safety features, including ground fault protection and communication with the vehicle to ensure a safe connection.
