Understanding the various "car plug types" is fundamental to the EV ownership and infrastructure development experience. These physical interfaces, standardized internationally to ensure compatibility between vehicles and charging stations, are a central part of our manufacturing expertise. As a dedicated producer of EV high-voltage interconnect solutions, we design and manufacture the vehicle inlets and charging plugs that define these "car plug types." The most common types we produce include the AC connectors: the Type 1 (SAE J1772) single-phase plug used primarily in North America and Japan, and the Type 2 (IEC 62196-2) three-phase plug standard in Europe. For DC fast charging, we manufacture the Combined Charging System (CCS) connectors, which are essentially an evolution of Type 1 or Type 2 plugs with two additional high-current DC pins. For instance, a vehicle equipped with a CCS Type 2 inlet can accept both a standard Type 2 AC plug for home or work charging and a CCS2 DC plug for rapid charging on highways.
